As CityLab writes, demographics and aging indicates that millennial population growth may cities taper off. This shift need not lead to collapse however. By recognizing that the urban boom may not last forever, making cities more family friendly, building a broader range of housing, and continuing to do what works, cities can evolve accordingly. Many cities have experienced renewal over the past decade. By recognizing upcoming demographic and social changes, cities and city-makers can harness recent urban energy to shape places that accommodate people through all stages of life.
